Why straight designs don't fit tapered tumblers
A tapered tumbler is wider at the top than at the bottom. Flattened out, its surface isn't a rectangle. It's a curved slice of a ring. Wrap a rectangular design around it and the top won't reach around the rim, the bottom overlaps, and the design tilts at the seam.
TaperWrap bends your design into that curved shape so every row wraps exactly once around the cup, from the wide rim down to the narrow base. Print it, cut along the line, and it sits flat with a clean seam.
How to measure your tumbler
- Top circumference: wrap a soft tape measure around the cup just below the lid line, where you want the print to start.
- Bottom circumference: wrap it around where the print should end, just above the base.
- Height: measure between those two lines, along the side of the cup, with the tape lying flat against it.
Only have diameters? Switch to Across and enter them instead. For a snug seam, keep a small overlap (about ¼ in / 6 mm) under Print options.

Is my design uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your artwork never leaves your computer, so it works on private and licensed designs.
What size should my straight design be?
Use the straight wrap you would normally print, at any size. TaperWrap stretches it to go all the way around at every height, so the left and right edges meet at the seam. Designs made for a straight tumbler of about the same size look most natural.
How do I print at the right size?
Download the PDF for your paper and print at Actual size / 100%, not "Fit to page". The PNG is tagged at your chosen DPI, so Silhouette Studio, Cricut Design Space, Photoshop and most print software open it at the correct physical size.
My wrap is bigger than Letter paper.
Many tapered wraps are wider than 11 inches. Use Legal or Tabloid (11 × 17) sublimation paper. TaperWrap tells you which paper sizes fit.
Does it work with Silhouette, Cricut and Canva?
Yes. It exports standard PNG and PDF files you can place in any of them. You don't need Silhouette's Designer Edition or Business Edition warp tools.
What about 40 oz tumblers with a handle?
Those have a straight top and a tapered bottom, so they're printed in sections. Section support is next on our list. For now, TaperWrap handles the tapered section if you measure just that part.
